Assignment 4: Colour Theory (Lecture)

This week's lecture was very interesting to me. When Ms Lisa said that we will be learning about colour psychology, I was keen to learn more about it and I can't wait for her to explain the colour theory to us. First of all, we learnt about the colour wheel which is made out of 12 different colours in the shape of a wheel. We learnt about the basic colours which are red, blue and yellow. When mixed together thus forming another colour, it's called secondary colour. There is also tertiary colours.

This is an example of a colour wheel:

Besides that, we also leant the meaning of the word 'hue', which means the purest colour and has never been mixed with white, fray and black. We have also learnt about complementary colours and many more.

Other than that, from what I have learnt during the lecture, colour psychology is about the meanings of the colours. Each and every colour has its own meaning as well as what it makes us feel when we see a particular colour.

These are some explanation to colour psychology:

These are some examples of how colour affects our mood when we see them and how it makes us feel. All these were considered when a designer is creating a logo for a company.
